Get Involved
Many volunteers are needed at all stages of the convention. Volunteering is an opportunity to make new friends, enjoy the fellowship of the yoga community, and help make this convention a success!
How you can help
- Pre-convention set-up: Rooms, signs and tables
- Swag bag stuffers: Place items in gift bags that will be given to attendees
- Props: Transport, store, monitor and return all borrowed props
- Help check in convention participants: Provide assistance for registration-related problems (such as lost nametags) as event continues
- Badge monitors: Check badges at entrance to all convention events
- Room monitor and usher: Assist students and teachers/speakers for each class
- Door guards: Monitor entrances when the asana hall is being set up for events
- Store/Vendor volunteers: Early pre-convention set-up of store, assistance during conference (four-hour shifts) and breakdown of store
- Archives: Monitor Archives area
- Hospitality: Greet attendees; provide information on local amenities assist in giving directions
- Floaters (extra hands): On-site/on-call volunteers to fill in wherever extra help is needed
- Security: During convention hours, security for students’ belongings, guard vendor tables, video equipment and stored merchandise
- Post-Convention: Clean up and breakdown
There will be volunteer opportunities before, during and after the convention. Some jobs may require a greater time commitment and may be completed prior to the beginning of the convention. Other jobs will be staffed in short four-hour shifts during the convention. Please note that volunteers who are not certified teachers will not be able to participate in the convention activities. We invite you to volunteer; do what you can, in service to the greater Iyengar Yoga Community.
